REINCARNATION - BEING ESPORTS organizes D/A/CH Dota 2 League
Registration for the open Qualifier: Challengermode
The esports and gaming event organizer BEING ESPORTS continues to break new ground. After the Warcraft 3 and CS:GO LAN events, REINCARNATION - D/A/CH Dota 2 by BEING ESPORTS is the first new title in the portfolio that takes place online and resembles a championship, as in PUBG.
Dota 2 is a traditional title that was previously part of ESLM in the D/A/CH region. After the ESL removed Dota 2 from its lineup at the end of 2022, BEING ESPORTS began to consider integrating the title into its own portfolio.
As before with PUBG, the goal is to make this league as close to the community as possible. As a first measure, Jan "shokztv" Holtmann was added to the organization team. Almost nobody knows the Dota 2 esports scene like he does. Therefore, Jan is not only a caster, but also active in the project management. Apart from that, other well-known caster personalities like Benjamin "Benni" Buchtala and Nicolai "DaHorsty" Krybus will be in front of the camera and will shape this league in the sense of the teams and viewers on stream.
But a league does not only live from the people in front of the camera. Also the whole tournament concept was reconsidered accordingly and the following system was found.
The participating teams must consist of 5 players from the D/A/CH region. This means that you either have to have your residence in the D/A/CH region or you have to have a passport of the respective countries. The background of this is that BEING ESPORTS wants to strengthen and build up the Dota 2 D/A/CH scene with its project.
The prize money amounts 2.000,-€.
The league itself starts with a qualification round in which up to 32 teams can compete. In the end, 8 teams will make it to the main stage of the tournament. These 8 teams are placed together on a leaderboard and play a best-of-one once against every other team. There will be 3 different best-of-one matches per broadcast day.
There are several reasons why BEING ESPORTS has chosen this system. On the one hand, there are no or hardly any full-time professionals playing in the D/A/CH Dota 2 scene. That means game days on which 5 people from one team have to block potentially 3 hours or more to be able to play seem to be unrealistic and highly unfavorable for the teams and players. With this system, teams play one official match per night and accordingly only have to block off a little over an hour to participate.
But this system is also advantageous for the viewers. First of all, there is more variety per evening. You can cheer for your favorite team more often and it's not a tragedy if you miss an evening - because there's another match coming up soon. Viewers can also choose how many of the three matches per matchday they want to watch, without having to tune out at 1 : 1 in a best-of-three series because it simply takes too long. Last but not least, this system makes for more exciting evenings, as matches where two teams of apparently different strength only meet for one best-of-three and not several matches in a row, which can often be tiring.
Last but not least, this system also offers advantages for esports organizations and teams. Because their team plays more often, for a shorter time, which means they have more opportunity to promote their team on social media and other channels and build storytelling around the team.
The qualifying phase of the tournament will be played via the Challengermode website. The 8 qualified teams will then be entered on www.beingesports.com/dota2. There you can find the standings, as well as all pairings and match days. Apart from that you will also find regular news about the league there.
All games will be broadcasted on twitch.tv/beingesports.
The concept and idea has already convinced partners. Bitburger 0.0 is already involved in the beverage area, RØDE provides the best quality audio and microphones, and Adept equips the casters with top-quality chairs with a high focus on sustainability.
Throughout the league there will also be a competition where you can win prizes from these partners! So keep your eyes peeled on the BEING ESPORTS social media channels!
